State Reserve Pairs – Runners Up

Congratulations to the Lane Cove team of Scott Bonthorne and John Lloyd, for their achievements in the Open Reserve Pairs, at the 2022/23 State Championships.
In sectional play, a thumping 29-15 victory in the opening round put the guys top of the section. Round two was a tight 18-21 loss to Cabra Vale Diggers and the section was now wide open with all 4 teams on 1 victory. In round 3 the boys beat Gymea 26-19 and this was enough to see the guys top the section on 2 wins plus 18 shots, and advance to the semi final.

In the semi final Lane Cove played Fingal Bay, who were section 4 winners and undefeated with 3 wins plus 44 shots.
Victory was achieved with a 17-13 shot win and the boys advanced to the final.

The final was against Stuarts Point who secured their finals spot with 3 wins plus 47 in sectional play and a 17-13 victory in their semi final.

The final was a tight low scoring match, 5-5 after 9 ends and 5-7 after 11 ends.
Just one score of 2 in the opening 11 ends.
Stuarts Point went on to win the final 19-10

A tremendous performance from the Lane Cove team. State Runners up.
